Before Winston was born, his parents were alerted that something was wrong. Five months into her pregnancy, Winston’s mother was informed he had a tumor. This was later discovered to be Lymphatic Malformation.

He underwent his first surgical procedure at birth to insert a trach that would allow him to breath. Winston also has a feeding tube and nursing help fourteen hours a day to manage his care. Before coming in contact with the Foundation, Winston’s tongue would bleed on a daily basis and he even died once – only to be revived by his father. His condition is extreme and continues to be a success story. His quality of life is much improved and he is looking ahead to removal of his trach.

Funding a child with a similar condition would cost the Foundation around $125,000 a year.
